Vegan Spiced Banana Smoothie
The Vegan Spiced Banana Smoothie is one of my favourite drinks when I feel my guts need
a bit of love and care. Bananas are renowned to have many health benefits, they’re high in potassium,
full of fibres and a great energy boost. They can fight stomach acidity and help restore your gut’s protective layer!
For the Vegan Spiced Banana Smoothie I use Oat milk, not just because it’s delicious and dairy free,
but because it also packs a good amount of proteins, fibres and vitamin B which makes this
drink a perfect addition to your breakfast.
And finally the spices – for no other reason rather than I just think they taste delicious!
To make the perfect drink for those last days of summer when it’s still warm enough to have
a refreshing smoothie but you just feel that itch for some autumnal spicy flavours.
Vegan Spiced Banana Smoothie
Equipment
- 1 Immersion blender
- 1 Jug or bowl to blend
Ingredients
- 200 ml Oat milk
- 2 Small bananas
- 3 dashes Ground cinnamon
- 1 dash Ground coriander
- 1 dash Ground nutmeg
- 1 dash Ground cloves
Instructions
- Peel your bananas, slice them into rough big chunks and add them to your jug or bowl. Then add the oat milk and the spices. For the spices, I prefer to use a ratio of 3/1/1/1 so 3 parts cinnamon, 1 part coriander, 1 part nutmeg and 1 part cloves but you can use a store-bought spice blend or make your own!
- Now blend until you reach a creamy consistency – remember to taste the drink before you pour it into your mug of choice. Adjust the spice or milk to taste, or add a teaspoon of maple syrup to enhance the sweetness.
- Your Vegan Spiced Banana Smoothie is ready! Pour into your favourite mug and enjoy with a sweet treat or a salty snack!
