Autumn Spice Blend
I love spices and herbs, especially a good old Autumn Spice Blend – I can’t go one meal without adding a sprinkle of basil or oregano in my salad or a bit of cumin and paprika to my roasted tofu.
As some spices can upset my stomach, most of the time I prefer making my own blends. As a general rule of thumb, making your own food is always a safer bet than buying ready-made because you know exactly what ingredients you’re adding in and how much.
When autumn approaches I tend to make a lot of pumpkin-spiced drinks and desserts. I’m a big fan of cinnamon and nutmeg but not so much of coriander, and ginger can create a bit of a fiery situation in my guts so with my Autumn Spiced Blend I just make sure that I like it and that I can safely add the blend everywhere 🙂
The Autumn Spice Blend is super simple to make. You don’t really need anything else besides a grinder if you’re buying the different ingredients whole and a spice container if you buy the spice’s pre-ground version.
Highly customizable as usual, I use it for many of my other recipes including Vegan Banana Smoothie, Decaff pumpkin spiced latte and the pumpkin pie!
