First of all, open your canned chickpeas and drain them, making sure to save the chickpea water they come with as it's an important flavour and texture ingredient. 😊 This water is called Acquafaba and we're gonna add a little at a time to the mixture to reach the perfect creaminess!
Add the drained chickpeas, tahini, nutritional yeast, a couple of spoons of chickpeas water and oil to the blender - add salt to taste. Blend until smooth - if the consistency is still a bit too hard, add another splash of chickpea water to soften the hummus up until you reach your desired consistency.
For an extra punch of flavour, sprinkle with powdered cumin and paprika and it's done! Enjoy your new homemade treat!Keep refrigerated in an airtight container and consume within 3 days.
